How to Donate to PAWS

Donations can be mailed to:

The Palau Animal Welfare Society
P.O. Box 1765
Koror, Palau 96940

Donations to PAWS are tax-deductible in Palau. Companies and individuals who pay taxes in Palau can donate up to 10% of their taxes to PAWS and get that amount reimbursed by the government. Donations must be made by the end of the year, paid in cash (not in-kind), and made payable by check. PAWS will then issue the donor a receipt.

The procedure to get reimbursed is simple. All you have to do is go to the ROP tax office (Division of Revenue, Customs and Taxation) located next to the Finance Office in behind the old OEK area. There you will be asked to fill out a form, show proof of taxes paid, and attach PAWS's donation receipt. The ROP will then issue you a reimbursement check early in the new year.

EXAMPLE: If you pay $1000 in taxes in 2008, you can donate up to $100 to PAWS by the end of 2008. In early 2009, go to the tax office, bring proof of the taxes you paid (e.g. a wage statement from your employer) and your PAWS receipt, and fill out a short form there. The Republic of Palau will soonafter issue you a check for the same amount you donated to PAWS.

Please contact PAWS Director Valerie Lowson at (680) 488-1215 or email her at pawsPalau@gmail.com for more information regarding donations or wire transfers. PAWS will gladly pick up donations and prepare press releases when appropriate.
